5th annual Sunny Nights Fly-In at Pudasjärvi Sport Aviation Center, Finland, June 30 - July 4, 2010

Welcome to an unforgettable flying experience in the Land of the Midnight Sun at Pudasjärvi and Lapland. Up here in the north you can fly around the clock in the midsummer period as the sun will hardly be setting at all, and you won´t be needing a night rating since daytime prevails at all times. Even ultralight aircraft can be flown at midnight around the summer solstice here.

The northern nature and landscape is rugged but fascinating. When you turn off your ignition having just made a midnight landing at a remote wilderness airstrip, you will enjoy total silence - except for the quiet high pitch sound of a lonely mosquito approaching at a hundred yards perhaps, telling you that you are not entirely alone. You´ll find the northern people warm of heart, friendly and going out of their way to help you with any problem that might arise.

The fly-in event is open to the public in several ways. On Thursday night
all youngsters are invited to a get-together starting at 7 pm, Friday night
is for war veterans, Saturday is official Open Doors day and Saturday night, naturally, is booked for "Dancing With Pilots" at Havula Youth Society´s clubhouse.

During the Fly-In, members of the public are invited to introduction flights
where they can take to the skies with an instructor for a small fee.
Sightseeing flights will also be arranged. More information shall be given
on location at Pudasjärvi Airfield.

Additionally, there are some 30 spaces for camper vans with electric power at the airfield, or, you may set up your own tent under the wing of your aircraft if you wish.
